Hi all!!!
My name is Neil, I am a long standing follower of John Foxx and Ultravox (since the release of "Ha!Ha!Ha!") and also part of an electronic music studio project called Geigertek - hence the username :-)
I'm looking forward to some good conversation about John Foxx et al. I am at odds with myself over favourite John Foxx periods as I find the greater majority of his material appeals in so many different ways on so many levels. If pushed, I am particularly captured by "Metamatic", "The Garden" (our first album has the same name but that's where the similarity ends) and the "Cathedral Oceans" collections. For me, John is a true pioneer and as an electronic musician, his techniques and varying styles have been quite inspirational.
Of interest might be our entry into the Ultravox covers competition, we did a version of "Slow Motion" from what, for me, was Ultravox's finest album. It's not on the Ultravox site as yet, but we have it on our MySpace page -
www.myspace.com/geigertekmusic - it's not an exact copy as we've done our own slant on it. I know that some members here may have already heard it.
Catch you soon.
All the very best,
Neil
