I wonder who began the idea of playing whole album concerts? I seem to remember the ATP festival doing some a while back. But then Bowie did Low (and Heathen?) back in the day. And The Cure did their doom trilogy or whatever it is called lol. And didn't Pink Floyd do the whole of Dark Side of the Moon a decade ago?

And, of course, The Wall in 1980 or whenever.

Bob Geldof may be alot of things but he got Roger Waters to appear with the rest of Pink Floyd in 2005 for Live 8. And they did some DSOTM.
I believe 1981 was the last time they all appeared together and for years all they did was sue each other and stage competing world tours. One of the worst break-ups in rock history.

Roger Waters has been and is continuing to do the Dark Side of The Moon solo. I saw him last year and it was fantastic.

I think the last time they ALL performed the whole thing was in the 1970s but not sure.

Most of the synth bands that are doing album tours now, never did them at the time of the albums original release dates, which makes early Flyod etc a different thing in some ways.

Whats even more unusual about John and Louis, is that John never even played a standard tour at the time of 'Metamatic' or 'The Garden'.

The very first Dark Side of the Moon performance was January 20, 1972 at The Dome.
Don't know when the last one was.

Numan played the whole of "Warriors" live in his comeback gig at Glasgow Apollo in '83 (he denies this to this day but the bootlegs of the gig prove otherwise(even though I don't own one myself ))

Back in the 70s Mike Oldfield played Tubular Bells all the way through and Jarre did the same for Oxygene at his first concert.

Yeah not forgetting Oldfield doing Incantations as well as Tubby Bells ('Exposed') . .plus the Tubby Bells 2&3 .. but they were sort of 'premières' i suppose. That kind of music just has to be played as a 'full album' otherwise doesn't make much sense.
