Listening to my own copy of Metal Beat now, which arrived from Townsend along with Retro Future. Today is a good day.

That's great news Steve that you got your copies of Retro Future and Metal Beat and that you wasn't robbed to pay for them.

Enjoy

It really does pay to not be tempted by the ebay rip-offs if possible. The first time i noticed this happening with Johns cds was the TCM one. Since then ive either bought from a 'proper' online store or even the high street.

Yep, so far, so good. I've listened to all of Metal Beat already and wish there'd been more complete tracks, but the interview was entertaining. I feel like I have to see Last Year at Marienbad now.

Agreed. I really, really wish the extended version of Plaza had been the full thing, which was the impression I got from the description prior to release. Maybe to be added to a future compilation?

Agreed. I wish also that the demo tracks had been played in there entirety on Metal Beat. As a basically fan based product I still find it annoying some of the tracks fade out (RANT OVER) frown

Exactly! Its a bit strange hearing the 'extended version' for the first time, only to find that its just a clip.

There was a lot of interesting bits of music on the disc though, some have been on the bootlegs etc.

If nothing else, the abridged music tracks prove that there are early recordings that sound good enough to release. Now if they'd be so kind as to actually do so...
