Our satellite TV provider, DSTV, is showing a promo film advertising their various TV packages and the music sounds to me very much like China Crisis, but not a song of theirs I've ever heard. I've tried Googling various parts of the lyrics but nothing comes up. I've looked up as many CC lyrics as I can find, to no avail. Musically it sounds like them and the vocals definitely sound like Gary Daly, though tere's a slight hint of Feargal Sharkey in there too.

It goes something like this:

Satellites
spinning around
above our heads tonight.
Lost in the skies
eternal machines
see the splintered light.
Communicating
what are they saying?
Spinning round in flight.

Well hello world
take the key
over land
across the sea...

Anybody recognise it?

No, I don't think it's China Crisis either Bob (and I usually score around 9.5/10 in China Crisis quizzes*.. ehem..)
Gary Daly has done some solo work which I'm not very familiar with so that's a possibility ...
their light and wistful poppy style has been copied (And never equalled9 by a good few though..

*quizzes I write myself, bien sur.

Although a great fan of CC I only actually have two albums: What Price Paradise? and Working With Fire & Steel and I know it's not from either of those. Maybe I need to check out Gary's solo material.

Saw them live around 1982 / 83 supported by Howard Jones! Those were the days...

Yes I saw them then too . .just before Fire & Steel album..in fact it was the "Tragedy & Mystery Tour" ..I had the T shirt!

You should def check out first album "Difficult Shapes.." and "Flaunt the Imperfection" which is their best IMHO .. What Price was a bit of a disappointment after that ..
