Billy’s voice was such a perfect vital humanity flowing along with the arty atmospherics and the intensified pop of his music.
I can remember very clearly when I heard the Associates for the first time, John Peel (where else!) played a few tracks, and when the beautiful/strange sound of
‘Tell Me Easters On Friday’ started up I rushed over to tape it. Like Gary Hunter, I am also surprised that 12 years has past so quickly, and I feel I should reintroduce myself to Billy’s music once again.
