Weirdly, I can imagine Abba cover versions of the album "Ultravox!". Someone get Bjorn Again on the phone ...

You'll have to be Erasure for that.

With a few drinks IŽll bring out my Jupiter 4, SH-101, TR-707 and jam with John As Good As New from Voulez-Voulez....madness!

Merry Xmas Everyone!

Chris wink

PS Actually, Angel Eyes is a great track but that would be too.... shocked

I know Blancmange did a great cover but I'd go with The Day Before You Came a little slower more spoken version would be cool!

eek "Which Abba song would you like John and Louis to cover ?"

Does 'NONE' count as an answer here?

I seriously can't see why on earth they would even want to. Don't get me wrong, I fully respect ABBA's extremely accomplished song writing ability and musicianship but, in my mind, any ABBA cover version would only serve to cheapen John's reason for being, and surely that reason isn't to cover the music of others. Especially music that is so tainted by commercialism that it would surely overshadow our Mr Foxx's unique position in the already bursting world of musical output.

And before anyone takes too much umbrage at my remarks, I'd like to point out that my wonderful wife is Swedish and therefore occasionally partial to a (luckily for me, not too often) spot of ABBA herself, so I'm quite familiar with their music and how people would enjoy it (by the way, she also loves John Foxx's music, which at least shows that it is possible to like both).

I understand it, but I don't like it or dislike it. It just happens to be there in the great sky of sounds available to us all.

Like I said, full respect to them, but things need not be imposed where they do not belong!

Garden wink
PS: sorry if my answer appears serious, but really, what a question in the first place! :p
(then again, maybe I'm wrong and John and Louis absolutely love ABBA shocked )

RUMOUR ALERT!

Could be (and most likely is) rubbish;

POP legends ABBA are being primed to see if they will take on the record-breaking run of shows planned for Michael Jackson.

AEG Live, the team behind the King of Pop's planned 50-night residency are trying to tempt the Mamma Mia band out of retirement with mega-bucks deals.

Jacko was due to kick off his This Is It string of shows at the London 02 on July 13.

AEG Live now face a multi-million pound black hole if they cannot fill the slots.

The firm's chief David Campbell said: "There's a little foursome out in Sweden we keep talking to."

ABBA stormed onto the world stage in 1973, winning the Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo.

Benny Andersson, 62, Bjorn Ulvaeus, 64, Agnetha Faltskog, 59 and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, 63, pumped out hits including Super Trouper, Fernando and Dancing Queen.

But personal tensions saw them split in 1983.

A source said of the ABBA offer: "There are millions on the table.

"But there are many hurdles to overcome."

I think he also denied it on The One Show, but just as he was talking music, some loud person was shouting over the tv.

If ABBA ever did come back though, i think it would be one of the last big comebacks possible for a group. Theres not many more groups thats been away for such a long time and have all the original members still living.
