Five 'essential' albums from artists other than our top favourites? Excellent idea.

I think we should also vow to listen to at least one album that we have never heard before from everyone else's choice

Goldfrapp - Felt Mountain
Cuckooland - Robert Wyatt
Exile on Main Street - The Rolling Stones
Blue Sunshine - The Glove
Chelsea Girl - Nico

I'm going to look into that weird German thing you listed in the opening post there Ivan.

This forum is a great place for discovering new music.

Gavin - I like Plastikman, but don't know the album you listed.
That could be next...

It will be tricky to ease out all my favourites, but here goes nothing - all of these records are VERY important to me:

Grand Drive "True Love and High Adventure"
Adem "Homesongs"
John Cale "Hobo Sapiens"
Lambchop "Is a Woman"
The Cure "Disintegration"

Trying to cut out a long list of usual suspects, this weeks top 5 essentials would be;

1. Air Miami – Me, Me, Me
2. DJ Shadow – Endtroducing…
3. Love – Love
4. Neutral Milk Hotel – In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
5. Saint Etienne – Good Humor
