It's a sensitive issue in a country like UK to discuss. But it's my curiosity. For example many think middle class or working class musicians was/are doing their own music. Punk and glam are working class; prog rock, Post punk, indie, goth people are middle class intellectuals; hard rock is working class, etc. I don't believe in that things, but a gender doesn't make a social class. True or false?

Punk, new wave and prog have their middle/working class representants. About prog, Emerson Lake And Palmer, Yes and Procol Harum are from lower class backgrounds, while punk people like Joe Stummer, Siouxsie And The Banshees, Glen Matlock (the mind behind Sex Pistols), Howard Devoto and Pete Shelley from Buzzcocks are from upper class backgrs.

And new wave...i understand almost all new romantics (like John or Spandau Ballet) are from working class, while many post-punkers are from middle class (like Nick Cave or Viny Reilly)
