I just watched my first episode of "Spectacle," Elvis Costello's new talk/music show on the Sundance Channel. His guests were Lou Reed and, briefly, Julian Schnabel, both of whom appeared to be rather drunk. I could have done without the live performances, but as an interviewer Elvis is surprisingly adept. Another episode features ex-president Bill Clinton, so not every guest is primarily a musician. I think I will have to tape that episode so I can listen to the chat but fast forward through any saxophone bits!
Hopefully they will have multiple showings of the show.
