It was really odd. Midge opened for Howard Jones. The crowd was there for Howard (who was quite popular here at the time)and when Midge did "Dear God" (which was pretty big here), I could hear everyone say "Oh, that's who he is".

I remember Hohokam supporting Numan on hes 'berserker' tour in '84. Not sure they were the best support but some of the nicest people. Funny thing i cant remember if they sounded any good.

When I saw The Cars in the 1980s Wang Chung supported them. Wang Chung sounded better.

Eric Clapton and a nine piece band playing support to Elton John at Wembley Stadium in June 1992 - he started straight off with the most energetic version of 'White Room' I'd ever seen and completely blew anything and everything Elton could offer away. Just amazing...

Just remebered The Messengers supporting Ultravox in 84 .. very good - what happened to them?

afaik , colin & danny of the messengers are still very much alive & also making music together ! :-)

methinks i should mail them again to see , what the current "state of affairs" is with the messengers ! ;-)
