Kerry's tracks are:- System Earth Lonely Sea Parts 1 & 2 My tracks are:- Summer Rain Dark Water http://www.myspace.com/themateyblokes Let me know what you think.

I've inspired something? Woohoo! Job done! But seriously, it's great that you're having a go at something new, if you say you haven't played in a while. I do like Dark Water

Thanks everybody for the positive comments & the friend invites (Alex & Olaf),strange really, Dark Water was a last minute addition, replacing Long Lost Piano,an ambient Piano track.I personally liked Summer Rain better but Dark Water seems to get peoples votes everytime so what do I know.
Anyway I've been looking at a way of hosting more songs elsewhere & embedding a different player in Myspace to overcome the 4 song limit.I'll put more up when I've figured it out.

hey brian !
jus' like in alex' case too , i haven't really had the time to listen closely to your ( new / latest ) songs , but will - hopefully ! - find the time over the weekend or earlier next week , because there's currently sooo much music that i indeed HAVE TO listen to for professional reasons that the fun is getting lost sometimes & i really HAVE TO be in the right mood for something special then !
anyway ... cheers , m8 ! :-)

Hi Olaf,
I read on a forum last night that major artists are allowed to do that. They just have to ask.
Hopefully I'll get time over the weekend to try out the solution I've found.I've seen one site with 10 songs on it but it wasn't the standard player.

thanx for the answer , brian , but be careful with adding another player to your myspace site , as myspace may all of a sudden delete your account without ANY notice , if such a player somehow violates their terms of service ! :-o
btw : please read the following thread too , concerning myspace's currently weird (re)actions in some cases ! :-o fyi : http://www.ultravox.org.uk/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=000542;p=1

Hi Brian Being familiar with both Alex and Sarah's work I can hear where the influence came from. Lonely sea 1 & 2 is outstanding. Very atmospheric. Shame your music is not downloadable. Peter

Cheers for the comments Sarah, Its not just the musical inspiration, its finding the inspiration to actually do something with the kit I've got rather than let it just gather dust,to turn off the TV,to create a myspace page,to record our stuff & to show it to the world. You & Alex & other forum members showed me the way so thanks to everyone for that.

If anyones having software problems etc, you can always turn to hardware for the solution instead. Simply connect a mini jack from the PC headphone out line and put that into a minidisc recorders input, then moniter sound levels from the minidisc headphone socket.

i really love those ( already "ol' fashioned" by now ? ;-o ) md-recorders & always use one to record all my interviews on md , but also some of my radio shows & other music ! :-)
try to properly record an interview with some sort of mp3 player / recorder & all u get is total crap ! :-/
md still rules - yeah ! :-)

Hey Metamatic dudes! I've sent a new tune to Brian to bung onto our Mateyblokes Site called "The Truth". Hope you all like it. It's quite an old tune really that I originally played through Brians old Yamaha TQ5 and my Yamaha SY77. Now I think it sounds better than I could have hoped with new technology. Interesting what John did by putting those lyrics on our myspace page!! COOL! Wonder if we can get back stage passes at the Birmingham Barfly gig??

Hi Brian. In one sense it's lucky that Metamatic didn't turn up otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here enjoying A Different Ocean. For me this is a slow relaxing piece of music. I can just imagine myself sitting on the cliff tops alone and listening to this and watching the sea. Well done. I like this a lot. Thanks for sharing. Peter

Peter Cheers Peter, Glad you liked it,besides a lack of Metamatic also the fact that my plans to record vocal lyrics into it didn't work out last night after hours of trying to get something I liked.Anyways everything is saved, nothings wasted,it may crop up in another form later(wonder where I learned that ) Brian

Its out of my system now until I out wierd myself again. It played OK for you & Peter then.

Yep, played no problem! Yes, I've had some tracks that I've started, thought they were going ok, then wasn't so sure. Left them for a while, came back then re-vamped them! I guess all artists do that at some point. I sometimes find that I can turn on the synth and a new tune just seems to develop, but other times it just won't happen! Keep makin' the tunes! Sarah

No probs listening to it. The more I play it the more I like it. So unusual so different. I'm so glad Brian you decided to make this available. Just love the way it dies near the end. I'd love to be able to download it. Can't wait until you find "weird" again. Keep drinking the beer. I've enjoyed all the music that fans from this forum have made and some good music has been composed from, The Light Dreams (Alex), Spectral Response (Sarah)and Mateyblokes (Brian & Kerry) Peter

BTW: How did you guys come up with the title? Glad you liked it. For a short time it was going to be called One Little Indian (after Bjork's record label) but I changed it because the title could be misunderstood. The way I came up with the name was from the way the beat sounded. It either sounded to me like Electro Indians (Native Amererican) doing a tribal dance or a Steam Train. So I started to lean towards some Red Indian title. So thinking for a while I knew it would probably have Totem in the Title.I'd been listening to the Klaxxons & one of the lyrics is Totem Timeline. That stuck in my head. I also decided that my track sounded a bit alien so it became Alien Totem Timeline. So mostly I blame the Klaxxons. Brian

Thats where the Chieftain bit comes from. The synth sound used sounds like fractured ice in some parts . So after I'd named it I have visions in my head of a frozen Celtic chieftain frozen in a cracking block of ice.So there you go.
