Well it's 1981 now folks in BBC Four-land, and indeed September already so this week (in 2016) John Foxx should be on with his new hit 'Europe After the Rain' .. Sadly he's not mentioned in the line-up on the BBC site so hopefully doens't get the chop from the early showing ..

A bit of a classic show by the way and one that has always been firmly etched on my memory with OMD, Numan (video), The Teardrops, Dollar and Soft Cell still at no. 1.

Perhaps unsurprisingly I have no memory of Modern Romance or, er Funkapolitan..

Much as I feared, John was edited out of the 7.30 pm showing, with UB40 and Bucks Fizz suffering a similar fate. The full show was broadcast later, as usual.
