£60 für AtomKraft!? Neine Danke!

In other news - is anyone going to see what passes for Kraftwerk these days at the Tate?

Even though it's essentially a few blokes with laptops and impressive visuals, it just doesn't quite feel like true Kraftwerk without Florian. It's Ralf and a few balding blokes.

Yep.

I get the feeling what passes for Kraftwerk these days have now entered 'O2' territory. Normally reserved for what passes for The Rolling stones and the echo of The Who. It won't be long before we remember fondly when it was only £60 to see them live.

uh-oh...

I really hope they don't win. I understand the need to be paid for work that belongs to you, (ask ESG) but the idea that a time-limit can be set; that's just a massive no-no for me. If this had happened twenty odd years ago, you'd never of heard any of the following albums for a start: Endtroducing..., Paul's Boutique, 3ft High And Rising, Blue Lines, Dummy etc

I'm with Alex, can't really regard them as Kraftwerk these days, however, imagine if it was the classic quartet reformed to do these concerts, wow!

Count me in the club, too.

...and the robots -

look ridiculous, even the old dummies

look better. With record & lawsuit royalties, I think Kraftwerk could afford robots like this:

Well, if any of you were disappointed missing them at the Tate, they'll be in Japan on May 8-16 doing the same gigs. Tickets don't seem to have been sold out yet, and another batch get released on March 2 for sale at around same price as UK. Surprisingly UNexpensive for Japan. I'm torn, as it is probably largely pre-recorded, and not exactly a group anymore! Nevertheless, I put myself into the lottery for the standing area tickets for the Computer World gig, and will go with the idea that I'm not going to a gig, but an "audio-visual experience" and then pray to heaven that there is a good sound rig. The 3D stuff seems to have gone down well, and I hear generally hear positive reviews.

Yesterday I saw a mail announcing the "general" sale of the concert tickets so I knew I had got passed the lottery stage - indeed today the mail came to say I had been "chosen" to stand at the Kraftwerk gig - and privileged am I to be standing anywhere near the remnants of that group!

But the big news is, there are still tickets available, so if you want to see them, this is your chance!!!
