Do we know if the live album and DVD be included in the same set, or sold individually?

I believe that it's a three disc set - a single DVD with the audio split across two CDs.

Thanks for the update, really looking forward to this, is there likely to be an interview with John as a special feature?

I'm afraid that the full list of 'extra features' hasn't be finalised yet.

Sorry, there's still no release date for Analogue Circuit. It's now likely to be sometime in October, and the list of 'Forthcoming Releases' in the right-hand sidebar elsewhere on this site was changed a while back to reflect that.

I'll have to pre-order Evidence to satisfy my need for new material!

I looked at the set list of the DVD again and miss the tracks with Louis on it. What is the reason the 3 tracks with Louis are not included on the DVD and CD?
For my opinion they played very well together on that evening. If I remember right it was Through my sleeping, Shadow Man and An Ocean we can breathe!?

Good point, Shadow Man - although as I remember it there was 'A Million Cars' instead of 'Through My Sleeping' (if the setlist I originally posted on my blog http://tinyurl.com/8qv862k was correct).

I also notice that 'Destination' (from the first encore) is absent from the track list quoted on the Townsend site.

I am very much looking forward to the set, but the omission of those tracks is somewhat disappointing.

From memory (of the youtube videos I saw) the performance of 'Destination' on that night suffered a few technical hiccups... It's probably for the best that that performance was not included. It is indeed a shame though, because that's one of my favourite JF+TM tracks.

Unfortunately, there were a number technical issues with both the sound and the vision during Destination, and the three tracks performed with Louis Gordon. It was very regretable as despite our best efforts we weren't able to salvage any of these tracks.

There are plans to make it up to Louis by creating a special Foxx / Gordon retrospective sometime during the new year.

This is good news. I can't help but feel that John's work with Louis didn't get the attention it deserved at the time and has since been overshadowed. Feels like a good time for this kind of release.

Great news! I know what you mean by overshadowed, but I think it's just a regrettable after-effect of the Maths getting such amazing exposure that nobody probably really counted on. I'd really like to see a John and Louis Roundhouse / Cargo event definitely, and yes, I'd love them to re-group in the near future.

And I know I'm probably the only one who wants it (as it's very recent), but I'd love a remastered From Trash as that was my favourite of the album of theirs.

For me, Trash is their second best album after TPOE.
But what is there to remaster? It's too recent for any remastering surely.

Sorry, forgot to add that, usually with the remasters there's a second disc of live or unreleased stuff, and I'd like to hear any thing else that came out of those sessions.

In that case, count me in! However, I suspect we've already had it, with Sideways and "Running in Traffic".

Way back before the album came out, the titles of all the works-in-progress were posted on MySpace – I seem to think most, if not all of them surfaced. I wish I'd saved them for reference!

I remember during the gigs a few differences in "Impossible" - lyrics, middle section.

A second CD with live stuff from their 2006 tour would be great. They played Slow Motion along other stuff which was never been recorded live during that tour. Shame, 'cause it was very good.

But it is good to know there is something in work about John & Louis. Thanks for the information Rob.

Me too! - If there is a John & Louis DVD in the works, that would be great, missed out on seeing some of their early concerts. Be nice to have an official disc available. laugh

It'll never happen in a million years, but wouldn't it be great to have that rehearsal version of The Beatles 'Drive My Car' that they used to do!

Hi. Has anyone received there copy yet?

I ordered Evidence and Live At The Roundhouse last Saturday. Evidence turned up in a matter of days but still no live DVD/CD? Just wondered if there might be a delay with it being shipped out.

Hi Andy,

DVD is not officially out until Monday so I'm expecting it to arrive early tomorrow.

They have taken the money off my card.

Both pretty good reasons why pre-ordering is not for me. Seems rather pointless - why not just order Monday on release?

It's not as if there won't be any left...?

Ah, but then there wouldn't be a sales spike on day one, helping it chart and hence get more sales. Sad, but I think everyone is doing this now. Also helps gauge interest in telling how many copies to "press" on first edition.

Got the DVD this morning. Nice package but not fussed in having the CDs in the same packaging. The video itself is spot on visual and audio wise. A lot of the camera shots were the same perspective as I got at the gig ( I was in the middle near the back ). The film production is very impressive with lots of good band footage mixed in with exactly the right amount of background video footage. Very professional and well worth the money. It really has captured the atmosphere of that great night.

The only disappointment was no Louis ( reasons mentioned in previous threads ). I hope that a retrospective of their work comes out soon. I also hope that we get a deluxe 2 cd version of From Trash as this is my fav JF LG album.

Just watched Underpass (http://youtu.be/4BCkfupwK-s). I am pretty sure they are playing on top of the original studio multitracks which I find disappointing. Did they do that for the whole concert?

Not really.

Mainly sometimes on some of the Metamatic era tracks I think.

Is it just me, or does no-one else remember John introducing Robin Simon at the Roundhouse. It's sticks in my mind because I thought it strange that unlike at the Troxy, John did not introduce him.

However, on the DVD, the introduction is there along with footage of John from the back!

Am I going mad?

I have listened to my recording made on the night and John does introduce him as Rob Simon. The crowd had already noticed Rob walking on stage and were cheering at the time.

Mine arrived the day after I ordered it earlier in the week. Nice packaging. I haven't watched it yet, but the live album sounds very good - perhaps the best quality live Foxx recording to date.

Got my DVD yesterday and watched it today.

Only one word :FANTASTIC!

Are the Future music interviews in the bonus section the same which came across the magazine in the past? It's very interesting but the film quality is a bit blurred if the camera is moving. Or is this only my copy?

But the Roundhouse film material is superb. Really worth the money!
Sad there is no Louis stuff included but it will be great if we get a DVD about John & Louis next year.

Thanks to John and everyone who was involved in this DVD

Unfortunately Townsend have let me down this time.

It is now ten days since I got an email Order confirmation, and the product STILL has not arrived.

I've always found them to be pretty good in the past.

Perhaps they are trying to teach me to pre-order ;-D

My copy arrived in Australia yesterday! The packaging is really nice, and the audio sounds great cranked up nice and loud. I'll post my full opinion on it when I'm a little more familiar with it, but first impressions are good!

It's the same footage which originally appeared in Future Music magazine. The camera equipment used to film those interviews wasn't to the same standard as the rest of the DVD (I think that there's a note saying that in among the sleeve notes), but it was felt that they should be included nevertheless.

Thanks Rob.

I haven't watched the Future music mag ones and it is good the interviews are included on this DVD. I should read all of the sleeve notes ( haven't done it until yet). It is nice to see all the synth they used on the concert explained by the artists.

I saw Louis some days later as I watched the Gallery photos. There is the full set list too. And John mentioned him during the interview with Future Music.
Shame the film quality was not good to include their set on the DVD. They played some nice tracks. It is good to see him in the Gallery.

As I said before; the DVD is really great and I enjoyed it watching very much.
The film for Parallel Lives/Film One as the opener is brilliant.
