What amazed me was the number of Beatles songs in there, EMI / Parlophone must have had a blitz on re-issues at the time. [/b]
Yes, EMI had just re-issued all the singles (23 of them) as their contract with said band was comingto an end. (they would soon sign a new band called The Sex Pistols ..ooh the irony).
Apparently this week in 1976 was when all 23 Beatles singles were in the Top 100 at the same time. "Yesterday" fared best.

1976 was on Sounds of 20th Century this week. Very much a transition year .. Abba and Sex Pistols, Eagles and The Damned. Bowie conspicuous by his absence this time.

USA Bi-Centennial...who remembers that!?! I got the stamp!
