Foxx also mentioned a project with Iain Sinclair at the Moving Through Old Daylight Seminar last year.

I tried to pull up the original thread using 'search' and even though it was listed, the search function told me the thread no longer exists.

Review of Interplay by Jim Jupp here and some interesting news at the end:

Obviously I'm a big fan and at the risk of making this review seem even more partisan, I'll share the news with you that Jon Brooks (of The Advisory Circle) and I (of Belbury Poly) will be collaborating with John Foxx on a few tracks, for a project that will see the light of day on Ghost Box sometime in 2012. Yeah I know !

The Moving Through Old Daylight thing did cool my love for Ghost Box it has to be said. I think it was the attempt to align what Iain Sinclair does to what Ghost Box do. Which in retrospect is like comparing what Foxx does to what Numan does.

But with the recent passing of Trish Keenan, I did return to Broadcast and the Focus Group and some of the other Ghost Box stuff once again, so I'll be interested to hear the results.

I like Ghost Box more when I'm reading about their music than when I'm actually listening to it, or so it sometimes feels. But Broadcast and the Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age is a case of the execution being as good as the concept, and Belbury Poly's From a Distant Star was pretty good, too.

There are clearly some conceptual links between some of what John Foxx is doing and what Ghost Box does; it remains to be seen how good the music that results from it will be. At the very least it'll be interesting.

Next step: get John to do an ambient album with Leyland Kirby, perhaps?

It strikes me as a bit too soon after Interplay for another release (speaking of Torn Sunset). Although I suspect it will be a huge contrast in style.

I just hope it's not going to be 'another 2008' with lots of new stuff coming out in very quick succession. That said, I guess you don't have to buy it on the day.

It seems nowadays that John releases the more avant garde or instrumental collaborations in between his electro/vocal/lyrical works.
