Thanks Rob for the encouragement to post this. Just a little fun for Christmas which I thought would make a good 'welcome' gift to the Forum and all my friends here.
It is Foxx related of course, but this seems the best place to put it for now

Below are 25 snippets of lyric from John's catalogue.
Can you identify which songs they each come from?

*****

1. I see you moving frame by frame

2. Oh turn me round slowly
I’ve been walking through too many rooms

3. I’ll be the passing man

4. Seasons pass but somethings never change

5. I see you in strangers
In light on the sea

6. She’s amnesia
She’s walking out in shattered times

7. I was in a swimmer in a foggy bar
I was trying to find some sea

8. Roses bloom in the mirror dust
As the tidal drift comes lifting us

9. Hypertext insect
Meshtrack shemale

10. When someone touches me I turn alight

11. Shafts of sunlight are slowly glancing
Down on me

12. Hopes are our empires now

13. Once I was walking alone with a friend

14. Invisible families locked out at midnight

15. I clap my hand on the lazy mosquitoes
To the smell of burning car tyres

16. Red red sails of sunset
Skies are burning blue

17. A million shadows on the factory walls

18. Mobile and fluid
A magnet for glances

19. Figures in the thunderlight are
Fossilised like ammonite

20. Sleep with me gently

21. Pictures into structures
And structure into motion

22. Make a quick mutation
Of myself at Euston station

23. Dressed as a private man I go
Fragile as any stance I know

24. I burned all the maps that lead here
So no-one can ever follow me

25 . We're fixing distances on maps and echo paths in crowds

*****

No prizes, it's just for fun.

OK I´ll answer one of them.

18) Night Suit - a much overlooked track and one which has single written all over it.

Welcome back Birdsong!

God bless!

Number 2 sounds like "A Woman on a Stairway" to me.

I think ive got all of them Birdsong except -

11. Shafts of sunlight are slowly glancing
Down on me.

Its probably obvious, but just for a moment its not at all.

You are correct newvox -

"Just for a moment" it most certainly is not … wink

Thanks for not posting all your answers though, I'd like to give everyone a fair crack at this over the holidays.

Hmmm... it's been a long time since I listened to that one.

Merry Christmas!

I'll add another one:

5) Twilight's Last Gleaming - a beautiful and moving song. Mind you The Golden Section has some pretty good tracks. Still a favourite of mine.

"Once in a While." That's one of my favorite lines.

13 will be "Annexe", perhaps John's most 60s song. Although it's a catchy song, it always reminds me of the Rutles pastiches of the Beatles.
