...and now I'm here.
JF was brought to my attention at Birminghams
halcyon-days Rum Runner by Nick Rhodes,as he spun Quiet Men during his DJ sets.I of course asked repeated playings.Followed JF since then. Can I
observe that My Lost City is taken from the F.Scott Fitzgerald essay, and the white-shirt profile shot of JF in the Glimmer booklet mirrors a Twenties portrait of FSF.On the DD connection, the formative Rhodes,Taylor,Stephen Duffy line-up rehearsed not 200 yards from where I type this.Duffy was/is a FSF man and quoted extensively from his works in The Devils.
Just recalled I first saw JF on OGWT with Ultravox! How did I forget?!

Hi Don, and welcome to the Forum!

Wow - Rum Runner!? Cool!

Dunno if you've seen this book - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Duran-Unseen-Pau...33664966&sr=1-3

It says Duran Duran on the front, but most of the book is photographs of people from the Rum Runner scene in the late 70s - you may be in there!

Hi Don, good to have you around.

I also have great memories of the eighties' clubbing scene in Birmingham, though I began going after Nick Rhodes's DJing days. The Rum Runner was still going though, but I never went. I regret that now.

Hi Don, welcome to the forum. It's been a great time to be a JF fan over the last decade. So many new releases, reissues and tours. Two new albums awaiting imminent release too.

Thanx for all the Hiya's.
I may have missed a ref to this bit? The Discography seems not to mention Underpass appearing on the Nick Rhodes/John Taylor-A Night
at The Rum Runner compilation CD Only After Dark...

Be gentle - it's never quite as it seems. Rob's working on updating the site when time allows (and remember, he's currently working on various Foxx and Ultravox projects in his spare time). The release you refer to will be included on the relevant discography page when the time comes (so to speak), be sure of that.
