Two good tracks. I like them both. Interesting echoes of the past, but refreshingly new at the same time

Oohh... I stand corrected then.
I've said before, unfortunately these technical details are wasted on me...
Apologies. I've edited my review, but then... hey

what is 'real'...? :p

Good point. Something Philip K Dick tried to understand also!

I never knew the bass on 030 was real until a few years ago - who cares anyway?

Great tracks - can't believe the 'speed of light' they're being delivered to us at! I'd never heard of John Foxx & The Maths until last week and now I own the first single - which sounds very CD2 Metamatic.

You could probably drop Foxx in a field and give him nothing but divining rods...and he'd still find that sound! laugh

I'd love to hear what he'd come up with given a mangle and a washboard!

First single since 1985 I guess (if you don't count the "Drive" EP and perhaps you will understandably want to). Isn't it odd that the download era has kind of returned us to the single, albeit in a virtual or even arbitrary way. Let us not forget that the term "album" relates originally to a collection of 78's in a bound container resembling a photo album.

I haven't heard/bought this yet but it sounds promising. Can I quibble that the artwork looks rather familiar? It feels churlish to ...

Overall though, the exciting times continue. And did I mention that the moniker is brilliant!

RadioBeach, one must cease and desist from these clunking DD references. They are simply careless memories. laugh

(I always think of Janet Jackson's faux pas re the latter-her singular mammary being the x-offender...bugger! How did Blondie get in there?)
smile

bytheby: cracking single,John! wink

Hahahahaha! Can't see LeBon singing that chorus these days can you? If he hit those notes now he'd be in hospital! laugh

Anyways - back on topic - I'm enjoying Destination. It feels like it was made very quickly - and I don't mean rushed - I mean, it sounds like it was recorded deliberately quickly -punk almost- keeping the energy and feel of early analogue entact rather than Logic-ed to death.

Agreed - there's more spontaneity to "Destination" than "September Town". Some of it almost has an improvised feel.
