This 'whole album' performance wheeze is a fast-growing trend, and the premiering of the whole newbie live is its latest facet. Other whole album shows either played or confirmed I can think of are:

Sparks - Lil' Beethoven' and Hello Young Lovers.

The Zombies - Odessey And Oracle.

Roger Waters - Dark Side Of The Moon.

Jeff Wayne - The War Of The Worlds

The Cherry Bluestorms - Transit Of Venus

Gary Numan - Telecon and Replicas

Also, David Gilmour performed his last album 'On An Island' on his tour last year - first half of the concert the album, the second half the war chest...

'Our' Gary got their before Duran Duran, with JAGGED. [/b]
Oh yeah. Released on DVD and forgotten by many. Including me

also:

omd - architecture & morality

love - forever changes

sonic youth - daydream nation

gza/genius - liquid swords

slint - spiderland

etc etc.

i can understand this if the album is somehow special and especially if it's not been played live before, but doing it for every album would get a bit boring and pointless.

still, the garden live would be great!

Hmmm, I wonder which, if any, of these 'whole album' gigs presented the tracks in the exact order as they appeared on the album confused

I was at the Roger Waters DSOTM gig but cannot remember if the songs were done in order

Even when they recorded the album, they did not know if it was in order. smile

I was at a Sparks Hello Young Lovers whole album performance and that was indeed done in the order as per the cd.

I think the Human League are on/were on recently a Dare tour where they did the album.

It probably was the 'Dare' tour, as some people wished it had been a 'Travelogue' one instead. Theres still a chance for the 'Travelogue' one.
