Probably a writer of interest to people in these parts - certainly 'The medium is the Message' has been often cited by Foxx as an important influence.

I came across this recently, and in a Burroughs kind of way found it both relevant and thought- provoking.

It is indeed a typo, made by the printers that McLuhan thought added impact to the message he was making he kept it in!

Incidentally, if anyone is thinking of reading McLuhan, skip the expensive copies of "Medium..." it's actually just a chapter from the book "Understanding Media", copies of which can be found very cheaply on Amazon.
