I thought there was a Kraftwerk page, but I can't find it. Anyhow - news; Kraftwerk have created an app!

Heh! Yeah there's a fair bit of moaning.

It's a steep price for an app; £5.49! But I confess, I'm having fun with it. I'm not entirely sure what the world band thing does. But the Tenori-on grid sequencer is addictive and there's a KAOSS pad type thing too. The sounds I'm generating are like very early Kraftwerk; Ralf und Florian era.

I can now turn bus and tube journeys into full on improv ambient krautrock headtrips. I love technology cool

Next time you're due up here, I expect to see you in red shirt and black tie with hair coiffed and parted with robotic precision.

Heh! I may do - or I may turn up like early Kraftwerk...which looks suspiciously like Jarvis Cocker...or The IT Crowd...

Heh! And you'll be known as Gazwerk from thereon.

And look at Florian, looking just like our Peter. Next time the two of you are together..

Clockwise from top left: intro screen / world-band thingy / Tenori-on style grid sequencer thingy / credits / mixing desk controls etc / KAOSS Pad thingy

Ah! The time-zone thingy! Each band is a different sound to play with. So, you run your finger through the time-zone bands find a sound you like, and then you create using the pad and sequencer. Fun! Fun! Fun! On the Autobahn!

I need to get a mate with Eno's Bloom app for full-on improv ambient madness.

That'll clear a room! cool

Cheers D! I was supposed to go to that, but the talk they did on Hauntology was really dull and I was worried this might be the same. Now I can download, listen and be bored in my own home. Still, the coffee here's much better! wink

For those who don't know:
She was the creator of Oramics, a synthesis technique which used visual images to create electronic sounds.

Many thanks to Member D for this;

As well as Kling Klang Maschine No1, you can now get; MINI-COMPOSER, another Kraftwerk related app for the iPhone and iPad. This one was developed by former Kraftwerk member Karl Bartos and software developer Masayuki Akamatsu.

The app, described as a "simple music app for fun [that] implements the basic waves of a synthesizer with a 16 step sequencer", is available for free - with an urge to donate money to the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan - from the Apple app store.
