As well as the Synth Britannia, Monday 28th September sees the start of another season on BBC 4 called 'Electric Revolution'.

"Electric Revolution is a season of programmes on BBC Four which gives viewers a unique insight into how developments in technology have shaped our lives over the past 40 years."

The season kicks off with Electric Dreams which sees... "the world of one ordinary British family turned upside down as their home is 'renovated' to the standard of a typical house in 1970 - the dawn of the digital age - and then fast-forwarded at the rate of a year per day through the technological revolution of the Seventies, Eighties and Nineties. How will children cope when they swap social networking sites and games consoles for black-and-white television and vinyl records?"

Whilst looking at the info for Electric Revolution - I came across a link to the Tomorrow's World archive;

and some fantastic archive pieces!

Not available in my area either! Very frustrating to have the BBC restrict this!

Some nonsense about us "foreigners" not paying the BBC licence fee ...which is also why we get tiny colour adverts before the BBC.com news bulletins.

I shall be writing to my MP.... shocked

I like it at the beginning when he says "thi smeans nothing to me..." and then Billy Currie and his pal walk in.

Hi D - yep that's it!

Sorry, I know you can't watch it - but it's been quite good!

The highlight of the season for me so far has been the film Micro Men which is the story of Sinclair v Acorn with the boom and bust of the early 1980s computer companies playing out in the background of the story.

Hopefully it'll turn up on YouTube in chapters at some point as it features some really good performances and its early 1980s is horribly accurate.
