The dress of pins Widow is a wonderful and provocative piece

Thanks for posting, I love her garment sculptures and site specific work, and a tiny aspect of her dress work uncannily rings a bell with something that's been on my mind lately.

Excellent site. I like this one:

and the Blockhouse one & all I've seen, so far. laugh
But a special mention has to go to 'First Lite' for the symbolism.

I used to have this book:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Space-Art-Starlo...96227568&sr=1-1

Got it from mail-order when I was 17 and sold it in my early 20's for 50 pence eek , but I came across it in a library last year, it has a few excellent full page reproductions of the NASA fine arts paintings, there's a great one by Norman Rockwell with astronauts being suited-up prior to a launch.

Back when I used to own the book I was more interested in the fantasy illustrations of space travel, and I found the NASA fine arts ones rather dull, in fact I found anything to do with NASA extremely disappointing as a child, well, it hardly compared to Gerry Anderson or Star Trek!

But today I have a reversal of that attitude, I'd so love to have a book of all of the NASA works, but if it ever existed it'd likely be on evil-bay at an out of this world price laugh

Whilst looking up some of Robyn Hitchcock's lyrics for Birdsong's 'Birds in songs' thread, I came across this section of Hitchcock's website showing some of his surreal artwork. Probably not everybody's cup of tea but I really like some of it.
