Elvis Costello and the Attractions played my university also, in 1981. Squeeze appeared also. Great show!

..what a coincidence. Although thinking about it perhaps both acts were already past their "best" at that time?

A Finnish new wave band called Ratsia was the first one. Few months later I saw Classix Nouveaux . It was a really big thing for me at the time.

Well, Elvis was still pretty big at the time here. I thought the two on the same bill was odd because Squeeze was all over the radio with their poppy hits and Elvis was the darling of alternative radio at the time.

Fad Gadget, Ceder Club, Birmingham Sept 80 ( I think). I was off work sick but had a ticket so dragged myself to the gig. Support were Depeche Mode about whom I can remember nothing! Was a good show but I would have enjoyed it more had I been 100% fit.

I am very proud to say that the first band I ever saw was ROXY MUSIC, at the 'AHOY' Rotterdam. In the late seventies. cool

Mine was Howard Jones at Birmingham Odeon. Paid £6 for a ticket with a face value of £4....and I thought I was being ripped off!

Those were the days eh?
