Its amazing how many there are after all, but do we consider them all primarily synth players, or some keyboard players?

hmmm thats an interesting question. What do you understand the difference to be?
'Keyboards'refers to any instrument based around keys arranged on a board laugh . Piano, accordion, organ etc.- so any electric organ/piano player play 'keyboards' but not nesessarily 'synthesizers'?Though techincally these are 'synthesized' sounds?

That is getting confusing.

If you look at fantastic players like Rick Wakeman or Steve Winwood, are they not synthesizer players as well...?

Id love to hear what people think about this.

For Missing Persons, the keyboard player was Patrick O'Hearn. Since the demise of Missing Persons, he has been making some great ambient tunes. I have purchased about 3 of them, and they are mightly relaxing. They are like John's ambient works, but slightly different of course --more melodic.

To write at work, they are very enjoyable to listen and think to.

Regards,

Rob

Warren Cuccurullo, the main guitarist from Missing Persons, has also dabbled in the past with ambient music outside of the usual rock format, which are enjoyable and definitely worth investigation if you're interested. He's also played on some of Patrick's solo works.
