In one of those moments where you’re waiting to go out, or do something more important, I found myself watching Thunderbirds, (not the 2004 film).
It’s still got great retro future styling I thought to myself while watching the scenes involving the rescue craft, the huge silver rocket of TB1 and the birdlike carrier ship of TB2, both blasting up into the air in a fantastic display of sheer power and flames, nothing can stop them...
But in yet another one of those observations that you miss as a child and notice as an adult, I realised that after all those massive pyrotechnics, Scott and Virgil in a rescue attempt to cut through a thick metal door had laughably arrived at their destination with only a very tiny ray gun to hand, they failed of course.
