sound's like an episode of pure class laugh

I'd always say that Baker was my favourite from the old days, but secretly the dashing Pertwee appeals to the Austin Powers within me smile

Yes, all the stories on DVD have been restored etc. I rarely watch VHS these days - all of the episodes I mentioned are available on DVD.

Last night I watched "The Kindom", which has a different Mr Foxx in the lead role. An absolutely awful flag waving affair out of Hollywood that is best left alone!

Being starved of English speaking TV, I have recently been watching Fox TV (another connection? Just coincidence) and 24 in particular. Whereas the program itself is OK, Fox manages to intersperse the program with he same set of commercials every seven minutes or so. It makes viewing impossible - just too irritating!

In Japan (BTW, and just a bit off topic) it is quite common for a program sponsor to show the same commercial twice during one commercial break (usually twice in a row). When I first came here I thought the TV station had screwed up, but then it happend again, and again, and again... Do they think we receive their message the more times we see it? Normally this kind of thing switches me off! End of rant!

Okay thanks. The reason i ask, is because a few years ago there were some restored new versions (at that time) stating something about 'round pictures' on the front covers of those new releases. They dont seem to be around again, and most outlets dont know the differences, they just sell 'units'. Apparently its only the bbc and Dr Who fans that know more about it. Will look into it more as its quite an investment even for just the Pertwee / Baker years.

Just finished watching the Doctor Who episode, Robot on DVD.

Also managed to watch The Man Who Fell To Earth yesterday (David Bowie's haircut is pretty cool cool ). Overall, the film is alright but they could have done without the sex scenes though  . Just my opinion.

Probably a standard requirement at the time for a 70's film with a rock star in it laugh

You should read the short book the film is based on, it's a good simple story with a moral, and scope for a new film to still be made from it smile
