It's not that much of a stretch that they could reform - and contrary to popular opinion, I believe they do get on.

According to wikipedia; Clarke was supposed to remix Moyet's '94 song, "Whispering Your Name" and with Erasure, Clarke and Moyet tried to record her single "This House" as a duet. This project never came to surface, because Sony Music Entertainment would not permit it.

I really hope it happens!

Some further digging has turned up an official Yazzoo MySpace page;

My take on it is that the 'reunion' will only be small if at all. Either way, the remasters is probable as Mute are very good when it comes to the product and promotion thing.

I am glad I didn't buy the discounted non-remasters. I know I have their first release on vinyl so at a minimum, I will get that one.

Theres a few rumours there will be a big tour to promote and reunite Yazoo this year.

The fact is its still being organised and decided on the extent of the 'tour'/ possible 'one or two shows' and a bit of TV.

A big tour would be nice, but lets not make it more before we know. wink

It seems you are right, K.
Based upon the what I read in the link MikeG posted, the 'big' tour is only 5 shows.

I've just had an email from Wolves Civic hall saying that tickets go on sale 1st Feb.

£45!

I like them but not that much.

Another cynical cash in frown

I'd pay anything for Ultravox! to reform though smile

I agree with you. I really liked the big dance hits of theirs that were very popular in the clubs here at the time (Don't Go, Situation, State Farm), as well as Ode To Boy and the like. However, I just picked up the nonremastered cds on the cheap and guess what? I still really like the tracks I liked back then but the rest of the tracks...

And yes, no price is too high to pay for Ultravox! to reform.

Last nights edition of my local newspaper printed a front page story to highlight the fact that Yazoo will be coming to Wolverhampton. Can't remember them doing this for any other group in recent times.

I agree £45 seems an awful lot. When the Human League performed Dare! recently they charged £26 and Gary Numan is asking £18 for his Replicas gig. And of course, John & Louis charged £8.50 for Metamatic (what a bargain!).

The price is not bad when you think that it includes almost everything they ever recorded in the studio and tv appearances. Its, for want of a better term, a perfect package.

I'm with maryann on this one - that's just an insane amount of money for a band only relesed two albums and a handful of singles.

The special edition Can DVD which was also Mute and had 2 DVD and 1 CD was only £18. Their Cabaret Voltaire 'Methodology' 3CD boxset and the Cabs DVD bought seperately would only come to £25. Quite frankly, they're taking the mick.

I think when you see what's in the box it isn't too bad.

The 3 albums (remastered) plus a DVD. The DVD also has 5.1 mixes of Upstairs at Erics and You and Me Both.

Considering Depeche Mode were firing out the remaster/5.1 reissues at anywhere between £12 and £15 I think it is priced fairly well.

Amazon are pre-listing the 2008 remasters of Upstairs At Erics and You and Me Both at less than £7 each.

None of the extra's are included though, so I think I'll just stick with my original CDs!

I dont have the originals, but extras are so important IMO that i still wont buy these remasters either. Would have preferred to pay a few pounds more for each IF the extras were included. Same happened with the recent'ish Depeche Mode remasters.

Received the box set today.

3 CD's and a DVD, plus a very interesting booklet which is something of a biography of Yazoo with lots of photos.

The DVD running time is 2 hours 45 minutes and consists of the 5.1 remixes plus promo vids and Yazoo at the BBC footage from "TotP", "Saturday Live" and wait for it "Cheggers Plays Pop"!

Yesterday I returned from Berlin.
I visited the Yazoo gig in the Columbiahalle.
Was well worth the trip! smile
The roof went off!
As far as I could see they did the same list as in Kopenhagen.
I found it a bit on the short site, 1 1/2 hour or so...maybe I expected a bit more in that department wink
It's well worth going to, Alison sounds great.
Vince isn't doing that much as far as I could see.
I taped the whole show on video as well, lucky this time :p

Don't go? GO!

greetings,
fons

Saw an interview with Vince where he said that Andy Bell was taking a break (bet he comes back with a new face..)

Anyhow, that left Vince sitting twiddling his thumbs, so... Yazoo reforms.

Apparently, it wasn't that they didn't get on, they simply didn't really communicate. And then the Erasure thing took off.

New material is also rumoured.

Does look a bit mercenary, though, don't you think?
