Yes, Mute was (is? was, probably) one of those labels where one felt obliged to dabble.

I remember picking up Laibach's "MacBeth" and He Said's "Take Care" at a record fair for six quid the pair. I play both of them to this day.

I got some stick for liking Erasure of course.

And I like "Shellshock" too, lots.

Hi!

I think the whole compilation is rubbish.

Don't get me wrong, I've been collecting mute stuff since 1980.
Like someone said, if it was on mute, I'd buy it.
(until Diamanda Galas that is...)

Why is it rubbish then?

Well, most of the tracks has been released on CD.
So nothing new there really.

What is slightly interesting is the "rarities" discs, but even on those there's nothing new
(for me, I might add).

Now imagine if Mr Miller had a look into the vaults, just like he did on the Fad Gadget "box".

We would perhaps have early demos, outtakes, unreleased remixes, rare live cuts, etc, etc.

But no.
Instead it's the same old "extra track and a tacky badge"

OK, I'll stop whining now.
