| On his habitual
walks through London, Frank Watts gradually came to notice something
strange. He often came across odd, burnt patches on pathways
and more secluded pavements. These were always small and often
contained the charred remains of items of clothing or shoes.
In his account, Watts conjectures that these places appeared
as a result of a person at such a location being subject to some
intense discharge of energy such as a lightning strike, or possibly
an unknown method of transportation or vaporisation. Watts came
to refer to the spots as 'Points of Departure'. He set out to
record as many of them as possible in the hope of gathering enough
evidence to provide some basis for investigation of what he became
convinced was a new and unexplained phenomenon. Watts kept a
video record for many years of all the places he discovered.
He also pinpointed and dated them on a series of ordinance survey
maps. Watts began this record in 1979 and continues to the present
day, but he has so far failed to interest the authorities in
these occurrences. |
