- Berlin's popular street. We see the ghosts of young people
out for a stroll, images made from long vanished sunlight. Old
ladies walking their dogs, passing cars, summer sun and winter
snow. A parade of several years in the life of the street, caught
in this series of brief fragments. What set these tiny films
apart from normal home movie souvenirs are the many unexpected
and unresolved moments - A middle aged woman hurrying by in a
nightgown. A dog in a baby carriage. An old man dressed as -
and assuming the role of - a shy schoolboy, standing by a shop
window. A bouquet of spring flowers scattered in the snow. An
unattended fire lit in a doorway. An armchair in a treetop, as
if thrown from an apartment window above. |
