John and Louis will be playing a one-off show in Venice, Italy on the 18th of October - the venue is called Fucina Controvento and the ticket price is 15 Euros.

Fucina Controvento , Via Colombo 123, Marghera, Venice, Italy

I'll post details of where you're able to buy tickets as soon as possible.

Venice, eh? I'd love to go there. That'll be a lovely gig I'm sure.

The Foxx & Gordon Holiday Tour 2008 is taking them all over the palce! wink

But it's great to see them getting about and playing to new audiences around the world. The Australian fans gave them a glowing reception, so hopefully this'll encourage more international live shows.

Nothing wrong with a working holiday.

When was the last time he toured the US?

I hope he doesn't end up in Vegas though. Then again, that would really help his bottom line. (Celine Dion has been at Caesar's Palace for a long while. Saw a report a while ago that she was one of the richest female performers now!)

Back in 1979 - with Ultravox .

There have been a number of offers to tour out there - but (for whatever reason) they've never quite managed to come to fruition. Perhaps, with all of the current live activity, that John and Louis will finally make it to The States... laugh

That's what I thought.

I think his fans stateside would be ecstatic if they did.

There'd probably be fierce debate over which cities he'd choose to visit. It would most likely depend on where his fans are.

Chicago. Middle of the country. Huge international airport, so it's easy enough to get to from anywhere inside or outside the US. Maybe it's not as pretty here as it is in Venice, but it is a lot drier, even though we've got a winding river and a gigantic (some would say Great) lake. We also have friendly and hospitable natives, fabulous museums and galleries, some cool theaters, nifty architecture, lots of nice places to eat, and even several colleges that might welcome a guest lecturer on the topics of electronic music and graphic design if one wanted to extend a quick jaunt to a proper stay -- I'm just sayin' . . . :p

Chicago. It's kind of hard to miss it right now on Google Maps, what with me making a fool of myself waving frantically at the satellite cameras. laugh

Chicago. Please take note, Messrs. Foxx and Gordon.

But I would probably be willing to travel to any city in the continental US if Chicago once again were to be overlooked . . . frown

Well, you would say that! wink

It is a nice place, none the less. I was last there 2 years ago. I do think summer is a nicer time to visit than winter.

When I was there, I spent some time photographing Frank Lloyd Wright's old houses and Mies Van Der Rohe's buildings.

College radio was where Ultravox got a lot of airplay back then.

Do we know where they toured in '79?

I'm either thinking some of the big towns like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Or one venue over a few nights and let fans fly in.

Las Vegas is perfect for that. Might be hard to find a decent venue outside the hotel casinos though. Small venues you can find everywhere but hotels become a slight problem. You'd need someone to organise group bookings and that requires commitments.

For a winter concert, you can't beat San Diego or Florida.

Google throws up both but the Naples one is older.

I believe the Venice one has a musical connection.

Interesting ... might be more appropriate then!
BTW it's actually in Marghera which when you see it you my well die as it's possibly on of the ugliest sea ports on earth ..

Yes we do. I've made this tour at 'pet project' and established most of the dates.
Hasn't been authorised yet as far as I know, which is why it isn't published here or at EV

Most of the shows are listed in the Live Archive section of the site - there's even some great photos which were taken at Hurrah\'s in New York.

We've really gotta finish this off sooner rather than later and get it all on-line... wink

They're great aren't they! Looks like he should of been in Quadrophenia...just a thought, but he wasn't asked to front The Who as well was he!? wink

I can't quite see him managing a Salmon farm though...
