Hi everyone!

After a few months away from making music, I've started to experiment with a few new song ideas for a new collection of city-based songs. The working title for the project is Metropolis or possibly Metro. Yes, I've been watching Fritz Lang's classic film recently!

When the City Sleeps

Empty Streets

Concrete Monsters

.....and their just the demo ones!

'When The City Sleeps' has nice sounds, and 'Empty Streets' has some great chord changes Alex. Best is 'Concrete Monsters' where the sounds give the impression of closing in on you, as does real city life.

The instrumentation of tracks 2 and 3 fit very well with their song titles.

Working in a large city, I can relate to that sentiment and the track itself.

Thanks guys smile

"Concrete Monsters" was just done in about an hour, quite a while ago. I forgot about it until recently. Although it is made up of very different sounds to the other two, I think it should fit in.

Sheffield is a mix of ugly old buildings and ugly new buildings. It does have some nice ones though! Anyway walking through town one day I thought about how these huge things that seem to follow you everywhere can be a bit like big monsters... in a quirky sci-fi kind of way!!

Personally I'm very pleased with "When The City Sleeps". I've still got more work to do on "Empty Streets"... tidy up some of the notes and try adding a new section to break it up a little.

I'd LIKE to listen to these tracks.

Unfortunately, even though I have installed quicktime, it insists that I haven't.

Damnit.

Hi Alex
I had problems with iCompositions because I haven't the correct browser. Don't worry my PC's like me ancient frown

Fortuneatly you've already sent me Empty Streets which I like a lot.

Keep up the good work

Hi Alex,

They are well worth the listen if you can get them to play.Internet Explorer just will not play them.

Luckily I have Firefox & that plays them no problem.

I like Concrete Monsters most of the 3.
Its very Foxxy.Great synth sounds & distorted drums.

When the City Sleeps is a bit Jean Michelle Jarreish to my ears.

I only use Safari and Firefox, so I don't know what does or doesn't work any more in IE.

but what I have realised is I uploaded the wrong version of Concrete Monsters! That version is the first version, whereas I recently worked on it, adding new loops and samples. I'll have to upload that slightly newer version!

OK - more new tracks!

An updated version of "Concrete Monsters" is here.

And here is a new song, a dark, industrial inspired piece:
Forgotten Factories

This one's not quite finished, hence the ending fizzling out like a limp biscuit. There'll be another version when I've worked out how to end it!

Anybody stuck with Internet Explorer who wants to hear them, just PM or e-mail me and I'll give you a different link to download them..
