Does anyone else do this?
I have been meeting more or less the same bunch of mates in the local pub every 4/6 weeks for a couple of years now. Various other people drift in and out of the group.
A few months ago, I introduced the 'Bring a CD' idea and its working really well.
Everyone brings an album of their choice to the pub and says a few words about why they have chosen it, why they like/dislike it etc, and then we all swap. Next time we meet up we bring them back (well most of us do
) and another of our own as well maybe to add to the pile, and talk about what we thought of the album we borrowed.
It's a great way to listen to new material - rather like a reading group.
The most popular album so far has proved to be Coldflap's 'Black Cherry' whch has passed between five of us so far.
