Talking of setlists, for completists out there here is the running order of the revised Tiny Colour Movies:-

01. Introduction (Arnold Weizcs-Bryant)
01. Stray Sinatra Neurone (Max Forbert)
02. Lost New York (George Wilkes)
03. Kurfurstendamm (unknown)
04. Skyscraper (Jerry Golden)
05. The Projectionist (Alan Marker)
06. Looped Los Angeles(Arthur J. Barratt)
07. Points Of Departure (Francis Watts)
08. A Man Made of Shadows (Alan Ingleby)
09. Waving (Michael Barker)
10. Smokescreen (unknown)
11. Underwater Automobiles (Robert Rouncefield)
12.A Peripheral Character (Evan Parker)
13. Shadow City (Earnst Lubin)
14. Thought Experiment (unknown)
15. Hand Held Skies (Jonathan Lloyd)

Notice the subtle changes in the running order from the album.

Hand Held Skies has sonic elements in common with The Garden, I thought. Certainly memories of this track were evoked (whch no doubt explains its relationship to parts of Cathedral Oceans as well). I felt aware of a natural progression from this track straight into Pater Noster.
First time I've been aware of this, which I find completely fascinating. I have not previously been able to see a forward progression from where John is now to a re-purposing of The Garden album.

Only makes TCM an even more fascinating, intriguing and vastly underestimated piece of work. As the project itself evolves, so it begins to move in different directions.
Like Smoke.

Oooh, another link cool

Thanks Martin for posting the complete listing for the TCM part of the ICA show. I saw that you had a note book in your hand. Very handy to take to a concert and make notes very professional.

It was to hear all the linking parts between each film. I can see how John has progressed with this project since the show at Brighton.

I know I would have enjoyed it more sitting in a comfy cinema. Beggars can't be choosers.

I hear a lot of people saying this.

Didn't feel it a problem myself, as I was completely enthralled by the whole thing.

I watched TCM standing up in Fulham too, but was too close to it then. Still never really bothered me.
I think we need to watch it in an environment like an art gallery with room to move around and watch the screen from different viewpoints.

As for 'professional' -pssh! Me?
Nice thought, but it really just illustrates that I have a memory like an old sieve.

Ok thanks. Yeah just kidding about Louis - have had the pleasure of meeting him in person; he had a bottle of red wine in one hand and a plastic cup in the other. Not that IS stylish.

Great review, Martin!
You did a nice job - as we are were all sure for! wink

We came home on Monday very late - had enjoyed our 3 days in London; esp. the Metamatic gig!

It was nice to met you all again ( Peter,Scott, Craig, Martin, Rob, Jeff). And it was also nice saying hello to new people for me as Sarah and her husbend and Mr. Illektrik. There were some other people I was not sure if I know their faces from the web site or not.

Peter it was a really great day together!! Looking forward for the next time!

Scott I owe you a drink!!! Next time...

To hear the full set of Metamatic was really worth to travel from Hamburg to London - which I told John too as he signed the CD copies for me( SMILE).

(I'm sure the guy from this forum I got the CD's for, will make a jump into the air...!)

Thank you John, Louis and Steve for this great evening!!!

See you all again in November!!!!

wink Andreas & Michaela

Great to see a few familiar faces on Saturday smile . Well worth the effort to be there despite ....

a) losing my debit card to cash machine in Liverpool lime Street station on Saturday morning.
b) the tube being shut when it came for me to go back to the hotel -had to walk all the way back.
c) finding out on Sunday morning at victoria coach staion that my ticket was booked for Saturday and not Sunday!
