In the summertime when I sit outside alot, I like to play very loudly Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers and many of my non-synth music groups.

I never ever play Gary Numan outdoors.

Well todays weather is very dull and rainy, the hifi is at this moment playing downbeat music with lets say not the most uplifting lyrics. frown

Also, summer evenings are good for Blues music.

The Durutti Column is pure summer for me, but it has to be sunny or it doesn't work.

The Pleasures of Electricity came out in late January or early February I believe. It definitely belongs in that time of year for me. I always associate it with Canary Wharf too since I first visited there (at night) at about the same time. Most other Foxx albums are spring or summer. I first heard Drift Music in a September dawn walking through Bristol.

I am struggling to think of an album I would play whatever my mood, whatever the weather, and whatever the time of year/day, but that is natural I suppose.

I've never given a lot of thought about music being seasonal until I read this thread.

I tend to vary what I play by how I'm feeling and where I am. If I want a relaxing piece it's ambient music i.e. CO, Drift Music. Translucece or something Alex as made.

If I'm feeling lively it's Crash and Burn

If I'm Peed off then Gary Numan's music helps.

I did listen to a lot of CO though back in the nice weather in spring when I did a lot of walking in the wooded area near where I live.

Sometimes I just glance though my CD collection and think "thats what I fancy listening to today or now"

Peter

Same for me Peter,it has to be the early or later years.....almost never the 'middle years'.

Good topic, Alex! smile

I asked the same question to myself. I love to listen more to Cathedral Oceans in Autumn/ Winter times 'cause of the atmosphere. It is nice to let some candles burn and it is dark and cold outside.

The Shrewsbury C.O. boot works fine in that way too - great stuff!

All the other stuff of John I listen to the hole year, but there are some tracks which works fine in Summer especially if I driving my car and hear it loud!!! cool
Best time is if I drive to my work...YEAH!!!! laugh

Systems of Romance always reminds me of snow and a cool evening sky.

And I also find that Gary Numan's music helps when I'm in a bit of a bad mood!!
