neither do i ... so i don't know , what gives u this idea ...

anyway ... to quote r.e.m. here now : "it's the end of the world ... AS WE KNOW IT !"

mankind in general has become so utterly arrogant that they think that "the end of the world" automatically must come , if mankind cease to exist , which is plainly ridiculous , as there was life before us & there definitely also will be life on this planet long after us - jus' very differently to what we know by now !
maybe certain kinds of insects will be , what & where we are right now ?
who knows this for sure !?

the current climate change will strongly affect the way we can live on this planet - that's all , but that's already tough enough for most of us !
maybe mankind will find a way to still live more or less "comfortable" somewhere on this planet in a century or more from now on ... but maybe not !
time will tell us - as always - & i can only hope that all the children of today will @ least have a half-way decent life & may not live somewhere hidden underground or underwater , when they are jus' as ol' as i am now ( 40 years ) ! :-o

fact is that changes are definitely happening right in front of our own eyes now & that we jus' have to learn to cope with them in the best possible way ... & STOP continuing as if nothing serious can harm us , as that would be bloody ignorant & purblind ! :-/

well ... the saddest of all things is that most of the people only realize HOW SERIOUS things are , after they were personally affected by it , but not before ! *sigh*

Sorry for not posting sooner - only I've been somewhat preoccupied with getting myself sorted with a new car. My old one died in the floods... frown

The only way I could get home to Ledbury the other week was to wade through knee-high water. Ledbury was pretty much totally cut-off until the early part of last week. In fact, the main road from Ledbury to Malvern was (at one point) under six feet of water! Very bizarre.

Hi Rob!

Glad to hear you're safe and well!

Are you sure though that a new car is the best option? I thought you may want to check this out;

The way things are going I might start saving for one now.

Maybe something along the lines of the following...

I was wearing a wet suit...
In fact I was wet through...

It's a Drowning Car
It's a Drowning Car

And I looked at the sun set...
And I wasn't even home yet...

It's a Drowning Car
It's a Drowning Car

I somehow don't think it'll be very popular though - perhaps, like my old car, it'll be bubbling under... wink

Thanks for that - in all fairness, my car was on its last legs anyhow (126,000 miles and counting) and so the bad weather just brought forward the day I had to change it.

The weather was just mad - and even now, well over a week later, there are some roads near us that are still flooded. eek
