Personally I'm indifferent. They've done some great stuff in the past, but I didn't think their later work was worth bothering with.

I've never been a big fan anyway - I've got the best of - which does have some smashing tunes on it - and I was always a fan of 1993's "Republic". That's all the New Order I need.

I saw them at Wembley Arena last year. Although I've never been a huge fan, I can appreciate they have written some great stuff and their wider status, in part, due to the Joy Division connections. In saying that, the concert was pretty dreadful and one of those that I would class as 'cross off the list of bands I want to see before life takes much more of a hold...' only.

Phew! at last someone else who likes that album.. one of their best for me, some great tunes, great production and generally brilliant. Perhaps slagged off a lot because of post-Factory era but one of the best albums of the 90s IMHO.

Hated Republic.

Came across some of it on a tape in the car last week.

Still hate it.

I was a big fan of the JD stuff, and early NO, "everything's gone green", Hurt, "Blue Monday", even Confusion...

Haven't bothered with the new, new order.

i always loved new order & they were really influential for me in general , but live they were always a kind of "hit or miss" band , as they were either brilliant live ... or completely PANTS ! ;-o
however ... nothing can beat the "electronic ecstasy" live version of their classic "temptation" , which is one of my all time favorite live tunes ever - yeah ! :-)
btw : their album "power , corruption & lies" of 1983 will always be one of my all time favorite albums ! :-)

anyway ... new order are as much "dead" by now as o.m.d. , the police or genesis are / were ! ;-)

make of it , whatever u want now , fellows ! ;-)

new order are my all-time favourite band! but i don't know, haven't they kinda split before... so who knows. and they did all their best records way back in 80's anyway.

as for republic, i have to say it's definitely their worst lp, but 'regret' is one of the greatest songs ever made.

i wouldn't say it was their worst ... I didn't get into Brotherhood myself . .seemed a bit shabby and over relaxed. Republic was sort of a relief after that, A fantastic comeback : Siren's Call was disappointing after the very promising Krafty ...

actually brotherhood is my fave... one of the greatest albums ever made by anyone...

but i understand why some people don't like it, it's a bit rough, not very polished... but i love it!
